Minnesota Licensed Family Child Care Advocate of the Year Award 2006
Honored at the banquet was Maureen Hams of East Grand Forks, MLFCCA's 2006
Child Care Maureen received a degree in Early Childhood Education from Moorhead State University and then worked in Small World Early Learning Center for six years as infant, toddler and preschool teacher. Maureen says her work is about providing support and assistance to child care
providers– Maureen has worked at Tri-Valley Opportunity Council for 17 years, holding a variety of positions that support child care providers. In her community, Maureen sits on two parent advisory committees, one concerning children with special needs and the other, children with mental health concerns. She is also co-leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout troops and her son’s Sunday School class teacher. Her three children, Ethan 11, Jocelyn 10, and Arizona 7, “are the reason I do what I do. I am hopeful I can make their world a little bit better” and she credits her husband Steve for being a great support and wonderful father to their children. Congratulations, Maureen! |
