2004 MLFCCA Spring Conferences

We had a great time at the Spring conferences again this year. I want to thank all those who helped with running the conferences at Austin and for the enthusiastic support and feedback from all the conference attendees. And special thanks to the hotels and their staff, the vendors, and the presenters. Without them, these conferences cannot happen. If you couldn't make it this year, I look forward to seeing you next year at an MLFCCA Spring Conference.            -Tammy Wachter

We had a great time with our  keynote presenter for the 2004 Spring Conference in Austin - Mr. Jim.

Mister Jim in front of his banner"Mister Jim" Schattauer is a children's performer, songwriter and recording artist. He is also a popular keynote speaker and workshop provider who shares his innovative musical activities with teachers and child care providers.

His upbeat performances bring out the best in young people with LOTS of audience participation. Mister Jim's friendly voice, lively guitar and dynamic stage presence captivate his audience with catchy tunes, playful movement and the wonder of imagination!

For over fourteen years, Mister Jim has been giving concerts for young people all over the upper Midwest and beyond. Community festivals, school assemblies, parent nights, early childhood events, state and county fairs, and countless stages for the performing arts have all been distinguished by the Mister Jim Musical Fun Show!

Mister Jim blowing bubblesMister Jim was the keynote speaker at the 2000 Resource and Referral Conference at Winona State University, and at the 1998 Early Childhood Conference at the University of Wisconsin, Stout. He was also the guest performer for the 1993 National School Age Care Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1995, he gave the keynote address for the Minnesota Kindergarten Convention. Mister Jim's composition, "So Many Colors", has been published nationally by the Shawnee Press.

The Minnesota Licensed Family Child Care Provider Association is proud to present our second annual Spring Conference at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Austin, MN on March 27th and our third Willmar Week of the Young Child Conference on April 24th. These conferences are for those dedicated individuals who care for and about children and their quality of life. MLFCCA’s goal is to encourage and enhance quality care for children. As a state association, this is done through providing information as well as training to promote, encourage, and educate those who care for our world’s most precious resource - the children.
