2004 MLFCCA -Advocate of the Year-
Vicki Thrasher-Cronin The Minnesota Licensed Family Child Care Association is pleased to announce that Vicki Thrasher-Cronin is our 2004 Child Care Advocate of the Year! Vicki was nominated by Tammy Wachter, former MLFCCA Education Chair.
Our 2004 Advocate of the Year has been in the early childhood care and education field for 26 years. she began as a licensed group family child care provider in southeast Minneapolis providing special needs childcare for medically fragile children. She has directed childcare centers and coordinated Early Childhood Family Education programs in both metro and rural Minnesota and taught in the Child Development department of Anoka-Hennepin Technical College. She is a licensed Pre-K teacher and Parent Educator. Vicki designs and teaches parenting classes, training seminars, and human service provider workshops focused on building brighter futures for our nation's most important resource... our children. Vicki has developed workshops for providers, teachers, and human service staff for 10 years, delivering training statewide for Infant-Toddler Training Intensive, Project Exceptional, Building Cultural Connections, and many more. With a commitment to the well-being of children and the promotion of professionalism in family child care, Vicki is an inspiration to people working in early care and education and a tireless advocate for quality care for children and their families. In 2003, Vicki received the Minnesota Council on Family Relations' Ruth B. Hathaway Friend of the Family Award. Vicki , mother of four and a grandmother, lives in Cedar, MN with her husband, Bob. MLFCCA would like to thank Vicki for all the work she does for early childhood professionals and the children and families of Minnesota.
