Family Child Care Union Updates
Minnesota legislators voted to pass the bill and Governor Dayton signed the bill into law. The law puts into place steps for the union to call for a vote establishing a union to exclusively represent providers receiving Child Care Assistance Payments (CCAP) and negotiate with the state on CCAP and terms and conditions. Licensing Changes? It was MLFCCA’s pleasure to advocate for licensed family child care providers on April 16 at the Early Childhood and Youth Development Policy Committee hearing on HF 1779 which covers several areas related to family child care. Based on input from our survey this past summer and input from the MLFCCA Public Policy Committee, Executive Director Katy Chase and providers worked to bring forward several amendments. READ MORE
Join the Child and Adult Food Program and receive up to $300 from MLFCCA toward licensing expenses. The money can be used for new or moving providers for things like fire extinguishers, licensing fees, background studies and much more. READ MORE
